Hall of Fame Inductee

Published Fri 28 Nov 2025

Croquet Australia proudly welcomes Agnes (A.B.) Morrison into the Hall of Fame, recognising her exceptional contribution as both a player and administrator.

A Victorian and Australian representative, Agnes was part of the 1935 and 1937 MacRobertson Shield teams, including the historic match against Ireland that secured the Eire Cup, later adopted as Australia’s interstate trophy.

She played a key role in forming the Australian Croquet Council, serving as President (1958–1960) and in several other leadership positions. A skilled player well ahead of her time, she was known for performing the triple peel decades before it became common practice.

Agnes won the 1954 Australian Open Singles and numerous Victorian titles, and her donated trophy for the best up-and-coming player in the Australian Open Singles continues her legacy today.

A true pioneer, Miss A.B. Morrison’s dedication and vision helped shape croquet in Australia.
