World RankingsThe World Ranking System uses a similar system to the Elo system for chess. A player gains and loses points after each game depending on who has won and the current indices of the two players. If a player beats a player on a much higher index then more points change hands that if the higher player wins. Each event is given a weighting depending upon its importance. Top class events such as the world championship, up to 6 points can change hands, whilst a lower class event 4 points can change. Most events are 5 point events. Players are required to have played a minimum of 10 games within the previous 12 months to be included in the ranking. The latest Association Croquet Australian and World Rankings are available from Chris Williams' rankings site. For Golf Croquet the rankings are compiled by Stephen Mulliner and can be found on the English Croquet Association site.
