Croquet Australia: Vale

Dr Ian Reid, a past president of Croquet Australia, was laid to rest on Friday 28th March at Green Point on the NSW Central Coast.

Dr Reid was past president of Croquet Australia from 1994 to 1997. He was also a past president of Newcastle National Park Croquet Club and a foundation member of the club.
A croquet international umpire, he was invited to umpire in both England and France.
Dr Reid was a respected pediatrician who had worked in Australia, Papua New Guinea, USA and the United Kingdom.

He was responsible for the poem The Geebung Croquet Club, adapted from Banjo Patterson's poem, The Geebung Polo Club, which is often seen displayed in croquet clubs around Australia.
