The Latham ReportDays 3-5 AUST vs USADay 3 Doubles Huneycutt/Cherry lost to Clarke/Fleming 0-26tp (C) 26-12; 2-26 Game 1 Huneycutt missed duffer 4 th ball. Fleming 5 th turn 9. Huneycutt missed lift. Clarke 7 th turn triple. Game 2 After opening manoeuvres Cherry built a break to 4back. Aussies played dry until Huneycutt dug the balls out and went to peg. Cherry finished. Game 3 Clarke hit the duffer and set. Huneycutt missed. Fleming made 9 with 2-4 leave. Huneycutt missed leave. Clarke made 12. Huneycutt hit partner from peg and made 2. Fleming hit and finished. Bidencope/Stark lost to Dumergue/Watts 26-18; 9-26; 21-26 Game 1 Dumergue sets on 5 th turn. Bidencope missed 26yard shot. Watts made 9, setting diagonal leave. Stark missed 17yard lift shot. Dumergue stuck 5 th hoop with 1 peel done. Stark does 9. Dumergue misses leave. Bidencope 12 hoops. Dumergue misses Stark finishes. Game 2 Bidencope 9. Much to-ing and fro-ing; Watts 9. Dumergue to peg in 2 ball breaks. Watts finishes. Game 3 After opening Watts stuck in hoop 5 and Starks made 9 off the mistake. Further to-ing and fro-ing until Watts finally finishes with a double peel. Soo/Lamm defeated Forster/Bassett 18-26; 26-15; 26-0 Game 1 Forster hits 4 th ball makes 9 with 2-4 leave. Soo hit lift made 9 with 2-4 leave. Bassett missed 17yd lift. Lamm made 3 but took off from ball at 3 and went out next to Bassett who stuck in 1back with 2 peels done. Lamm goes to 3back and misses, hampered stroke. Bassett finishes. Game 2 Forster 9. Lamm hits and sticks in hoop 5. Forster sets but Soo hits and make 6 hoops. Finally Lamm and Soo advance to peg after 6 hoops made by Bassett. Game 3 Dry play with constant setting up. Lamm and Soo cleared out with 9,12,5. Day 4 Singles Lamm defeated Forster 26tp-0; 26-9 Game 1 Lamm supershot opening paid dividends when he hit Forster's corner 2 ball and his pass roll set up hoop 2 with a rush to 1 and a break of 9 before Forster but the 4 th ball into play. Forster missed. Lamm set up and Forster missed again. Lamm tripled. Game 2 Forster won the opening and missed the 3B hoop. Lamm made 9. After a few misses Forster went to peg with back ball. After a break to the peg, Lamm pegged Forster out. After a typical pegged out battle Lamm crafted a 3ball break to the peg. Cherry lost to Dumergue 26tp-9; 0-26tp; 0-26tp Game 1 Standard opening with 3 missed roquets before Dumergue made 9. Cherry hit the lift made 9. Dumergue missed the 17yard lift and Cherry tripled out. Game 2 Dumergue won the opening corner 2 gambit and proceeded to a finish by a 9 and 17tp. Game 3 No notes Stark lost to Fleming 9-26tp; 15-26tp Game 1 After missed duffer opening Stark roqueted and made 9. Fleming hit the 17yard and countered with 9. Stark missed 17 yard lift and Fleming tripled out. Game 2 No notes Huneycutt lost to Clarke 22-26tp; 26tp-0; 0-26tp Game 1 Huneycutt made first 9 then continued after missed lift shot to go to peg with 1 peel on partner. Clarke hit the leave with the exposed ball on the peg and finished with a standard triple. Game 2 Huneycutt hit back with a solid triple to even the score. Game 3 Clarke came out after lunch with a convincing triple to take the match with a spectacular bombard peg-out. Bidencope def Bassett 26-19; 6-26tp; 26tp-0 Game 1 Bassett made the first 9 and Bidencope hit the perfect leave. After setting Bidencope made 9 followed by a break to the peg with 2 peels done. Bassett hit after both players missed some easy roquets and had 3 peels done by 3B but jambed the hoop from an angle. Bidencope accepted and finished. Games 2 and 3 No notes Soo defeated Watts 26tp-9;26-0 Game 1 Soo's roquets and steady play kept Watts at bay enabling him to triple game 1 while Watts made 9 and stuck in 3B with an angled shot. Game 2 Soo won the opening and progressed to a 26-0 without difficulty. Day 5 doubles Soo/Lamm defeated Dumergue/Watts 26-16; 26tp-9 Game 1 After winning the opening Soo stuck in hoop 1. Watts was progressing to 3B but missed 7yard rush. Lamm made 9. Dumergue misses. Soo makes 4 with 1 peel sticking in 5 th hoop. Dumergue quadruple peel ended after 1 peel and 6 hoops. Soo finishes with a double peel. Game 2 Super-shot opening by Lamm.l Dumergue misses. Soo fires firmly at double but misses into B-baulk. Watts made 9 with 1 peel on Lamm. Lamm misses lift. Dumergue misses rush to 1 and Soo makes 9. Lift missed. Lamm and Soo finish. Cherry/Huneycutt lost to Bassett/Forster 26-9; 6-26; 9-26 No notes Bidencope/Stark lost to Clarke/Fleming 1-26; 14-26tp Game 1 Stark won opening but stuck in hoop 2. Clarke made 9. Bidencope misses lift. Fleming makes 12 and 3 peels but roquets partner ball after rover peel. The long peg out was unsuccessful but opposition balls were distant when striker ball was pegged out. Bidencope misses. Game finished. Game 2 Clarke made the first 9, followed by a Bidencope 9. Fleming 17yd lift and Stark proceeded on a finishing break only to stick in hoop 5. Fleming accepted the gift and tripled out.
