Players Meeting Minutes
At the
Player's Meeting in Melbourne in November 2007, certain recommendations were
made from the floor and presented in the minutes of that meeting. The
Executive Committee has had discussions regarding the recommendations and has
begun the process of implementing some of the changes (For example, the
Australian Open Championships will be hosted by SA in 2009).
We are able
to give agreement to the following recommendations:
Ø
That the
Australian Open Championships be rotated on a 2:1 basis (2 years VCC: 1 year
other states);
Ø
The Australian
Open will be kept to 9 days;
Ø
That a
Dinner/BBQ be held on the night of the K/O Draw;
Ø
The Players may
also schedule a meeting that night if they wish;
Ø
Tournament
Conditions will state if players may be required to play under lights.
At this
time, Stephen Meatheringham is conducting a review of the ACA Tournament
Regulations and Conditions. Many of the remaining recommendations from the
minutes of the Player's Meeting will come under consideration as an integral
part of that review.
We thank
the players for their submissions and welcome the opportunity for us all to
work together to advance our Events.
